Vow Inspiration & Writing Prompts

Writing your vows can feel both exciting and a bit daunting.

Just remember, there’s no “perfect” way to do it.

Your vows are simply your words about what you promise and value in your relationship. Here are some ideas and prompts to help you get started…

❋ Quick Vow Writing Tips

  • Keep it personal: share what you love most about your partner.

  • Keep it brief: 1–3 minutes is a comfortable length for most couples.

  • Be authentic: speak in your natural voice, don’t force formality if that’s not you!

  • It can help to make notes in the weeks and months prior - if your partner does something funny, something silly, something that makes you think “Oh my goodness! I love you!” - jot it down to come back to when you write your vows.

❋ Writing Prompts

Use these to kickstart your thoughts:

  • “I remember the moment I knew I loved you…”

  • “You make me feel…”

  • “I promise to support you when…”

  • “What I most admire about you is…”
